Jesus Christ, the Α&Ω.
I believe and understand this to mean that He is the building blocks of words, and thus of all and every language itself. This is why the Gospel can go to the entire world, to every nation, kindred, language, and people. He is revealing Himself to be every letter of every term and word which makes up every phrase, of every sentence and statement or command or question and exclamation of Inspired Utterance.
Yet, He is not only the basic building blocks that make up the words, He is also the meaning of the words, that to which the words point and from which they came. As the Beginning, He is their origin or source, their Genesis. As the End, He is their goal or purpose, their conclusion, their Revelation. Every and all things were made by Him and without Him nothing was made that was made. He is the Creator of the heavens and earth which are themselves the raw material from which all subsequent sounds, forms, animate and inanimate creations came. He is the entire source, message, and purpose of all. This moves us beyond the mere form and body of the words themselves, the bones as it were, to the life and flesh of the words, their sound on living tongues, in the lives of human beings and ultimately in the midst of the Eternal and Living God, the One Who is, was, and is to come.
The Eternal Living God has revealed Himself through His Eternal Living Word, Jesus Christ, the Son of Adam and the Son of God. No one else can do this. Only He Who was, is, and is to come can represent the Eternal One to that and those which came into being at the sound of His voice. As the name Jesus implies, He is a human being. Yet as Christ, He is affirmed to be the Divine Sent of God. As a human, He became subject to death, to rise and die no more, and to thus reveal in miniature picture, the One Who Is, Was, and Is to come. Like a seed which returns after it dies, yielding seeds within itself, in a temporal picture illustrates the eternal; so the Living Seed, Jesus Christ, who is the Embodiment of all the Word of God, is, and was, and is to come. Abiding forever is He who lives, who came down from heaven to earth, died, and rose again, never more to die.
If we were reconciled by His death, how much more shall we be saved by His life. As the Almighty Word, never more to die, is Eternal, His strength is united to the weakest of human beings. His strength is surely made perfect in our weakness. The Lamb in the midst of the Throne is Jesus. Humanity and Divinity are forever united in One. Ties never to be broken with the human race, He links us with the Throne of God. The weakness of man, is lifted up to the Strength of the universe: The Eternal and Almighty’s Throne which is the source of all power. As the Α&Ω, He is the building blocks of the Everlasting Gospel itself, the unfading jots and tittles of the Commandments of the Everlasting God, flowing from His Throne like a clear crystal river, and the Good News of the testimony and faith of Jesus, that fountain filled with blood drawn from His veins.
Thus, the Eternal Creator’s Authority is in His Living Word — spoken, written, and embodied. Embodied first in Christ Himself from eternity past. Then, spoken by Him, who called all things into existence, immediately and without delay in the Creation in the Genesis, which is the Beginning, and through all time in history to the End. And finally, written over centuries in the old technology of parchments, yet now is written and being written into the hearts and minds of His people who choose to keep Him as the Everlasting Gospel, now, forever, and until the End, at His Final Appearing when He comes to Judge the Living and the Dead, the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
To read and write, to communicate, to remember, is part of being human. Will you and I continue to choose the Word?
Glory to Him Who is the true Light of the World, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Α&Ω, the Beginning and the End, Who is, and who was, and who is to come, The Almighty, to Jesus.
Amen.
